Displaying the latest in lenses from Canon, the IXUS 500 HS incorporates an impressive 12x optical zoom into a body with only 19.2 mm thick, making it the world's slimmest camera in its range. Available in four sophisticated colors - red, blue, black and silver - the IXUS 500 IXUS HS adds a range of futuristic design, minimalist metallic finish. In turn, the model IXUS 125 HS is available in pink, red, silver, green and blue that allow you to express your individuality.
Canon quality on all shots
The new IXUS models include a range of Canon imaging technologies to help get the best pictures in all conditions - from low light to bright light. Both are part of the Canon HS System, combining a sensor at 10.1MP IXUS 500 HS or a sensor at 16.1MP IXUS 125 HS with the latest DIGIC 5 image processor to capture detailed images without having to use flash, even with low light.
Getting closer to the action is now even easier thanks to the incredible wide-angle lens with 12x optical zoom IXUS 500 HS that retracts fully metallic body. ZoomPlus Canon technology enables users to zoom in, with more visible detail and sharpness that the conventional digital zoom, increasing the zoom range of the cameras beyond the maximum focal length lens. With ZoomPlus, the IXUS 500 HS can achieve a 21x magnification, extending beyond the 12x optical zoom and IXUS 125 HS with a 24mm wide-angle lens with 5x optical zoom can zoom up to 10x.
Both models feature an optical Image Stabilizer 3.5-stops for photos and videos crisp Full HD. The new technology Smart IS delivers sharp results on photos and videos, looking at the subject and automatically applying the settings most appropriate image stabilization from seven different ways.

It is now easier than ever to capture excellent images thanks to Intelligent Auto mode detects enhanced Canon's 58 different scenarios, and automatically applying the combination of camera settings to get the best shot possible.
The new ID Face (Face Identification) works in conjunction with Intelligent Auto to ensure that those that interest you most look their best in photos.
